Service Description

Embark on a creative journey and discover the art of wheel throwing in our comprehensive 6-Week Wheel Throwing Course for Beginners. With a maximum of just 4 participants per course, this semi-private class offers plenty of individual attention and guidance from our experienced instructor. Whether you're completely new to pottery or have had some previous experience with clay, this course will help you build a strong foundation in wheel throwing techniques while developing your confidence and creativity. What You'll Learn: Throughout the course, you will explore the fundamental skills required to create pottery on the wheel, including: Preparing and kneading clay Centering clay on the wheel Opening and pulling cylinders Trimming and finishing pieces Creating bowls and simple vessel forms Developing confidence and understanding of the throwing process By the end of the course, you'll have created a collection of handmade pottery while gaining the skills to continue your pottery journey. Course Package Includes: All clay and studio materials Bisque firing of your pieces Expert instruction and personalised guidance Access to a supportive and creative studio environment Personalised Learning With a class size limited to only 4 participants, you'll receive tailored feedback and one-on-one support throughout the course, allowing you to progress at your own pace and make the most of your studio time. Suitable For: This course is designed for beginners and is suitable for anyone aged 17 years and over who would like to learn the foundations of wheel throwing. What to Bring: Please bring: A small towel Comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting clay on For safety and ease of working with clay: Leave valuable jewellery at home Keep fingernails trimmed short, as long nails can make wheel throwing more challenging. Important Information: The course consists of 6-wheel throwing sessions only. If you would like to glaze your pieces, please purchase glazing session separately.

Cancellation Policy

1. Request for cancellation or transfer: Refunds or transfers will not be processed if you cancel within 48 hours of the workshop. All cancellation requests should be sent via email to info@mitraceramichouse.com 2. Cancellation: Our workshops require at least 3 students to run. In the unlikely event that we don't get this number of students, you will be notified by email or text message and entitled to a full refund, transfer, or credit. Please check your email before attending the workshop. If you change your mind and you want to cancel your booking, 5% transaction fee will apply, the rest of amount will be refunded to your account. We suggest of rescheduling your booking instead of cancelling. 3. Collection dates: Your un-glazed pieces will be ready for collection 3 weeks after your workshop. If your workshop includes glazing your glazed pieces will be ready approximately 8 weeks after your workshop. It is student's responsibility to follow up with the studio by email regarding the pickup dates. 4. Storage: Due to the limited storage availability at our studio, we are able only to keep your items up to 12 weeks after your workshop. Uncollected work will be donated or repurposed. 5. Pottery breakage: In the unfortunate case where your pottery breaks or cracks in the kiln, Mitra Ceramic House do not offer refunds, as this is the nature of firing process.
